The island is abundant in natural beauty, with water, beaches, and nature all around. Despite this calm atmosphere, downtown Charlottetown is just minutes away.

PEI's Charm and The Convenience it Offers

PEI has been a popular destination for North American and global tourists for a long time due to its stunning beaches, breathtaking coastal views, clean and refreshing sea air, local culture, delicious culinary offerings, and numerous golf courses. Many visitors even dream of making PEI their permanent home or go-to vacation destination. Nowadays, visitors from all over the world come to the island on cruise ships. This is because there are endless activities and experiences to enjoy for both residents and visitors alike.

Beautiful

beaches

With a coastline stretching 1100 km and 800 km of beaches, accessing the sandy shores of this island is never farther than 15 minutes away. This island distinguishes itself from other coastlines with its stunning white sandy beaches and striking red sandstone cliffs. It also boasts the warmest waters north of the Carolinas.

Sandy

retreats

The province has 24 national and provincial beaches alone, and over 90 sandy retreats. Some notable beaches to visit include Cavendish Beach, home to the Cavendish Beach Music Festival and L.M. Montgomery, famous for writing “Anne of Green Gables.” Basin Head Beach, also known as the Singing Sands Beach, because the sand whistles as you walk through it. Greenwich Beach, with the largest and rare dune system on the island, covering 900 acres. Brackley Beach, with miles of pristine sandy beaches and majestic dunes, is only a ten-minute drive away.

Cultural and Culinary

delights

Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada’s smallest province, is affectionately known as “Canada’s food island.” This title reflects its local producers’ dedication to quality ingredients and the inventive chefs who craft innovative dishes. Renowned for its delectable lobster, oysters, and mussels, PEI’s culinary offerings have global appeal.

Cultural

festivals

The island is famous for its welcoming communities, who take pride in sharing the rich history of the island through cultural festivals. PEI is also renowned for its culinary and music festivals that are known worldwide. In the past two decades, PEI has experienced a significant increase in immigration, which has resulted in a more diverse and multicultural population on the island. According to the PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada, they have helped immigrants from over 100 different countries in the last decade alone. As a result, the social, cultural, and economic landscape of the island has become increasingly diverse.

Outdoor Living

with nature

PEI is a beautiful island surrounded by water and lush green spaces, just waiting to be explored. You can enjoy the outdoors by hiking or taking a stroll along the beach. When winter comes, the open spaces and rolling hills offer many opportunities for winter sports. The Confederation Trail, which spans 449km, is perfect for summer and winter activities such as hiking, walking, running, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling.

There are plenty of other exciting activities to try on and around the island, including deep-sea diving and fishing, river and ice fishing, and shellfish digging.

Spectacular

golf courses

PEI is a fantastic golf destination, boasting the highest number of courses per capita in Canada. The island offers over 30 courses, including one ranked in the top 50 in Canada. Many of the courses have breathtaking views of the water, making for a truly scenic round of golf. Golf memberships in PEI typically cost between $1500 and $2000 per person per year.
